“My friends and I had the best time truffle hunting with Frederico, Argo (expert truffle sniffer) and Sally (jr. truffle sniffer). We went up some beautiful wooded areas and had a successful hunt! Later we went back to the farmhouse restaurant to shave truffle on some amazing dishes. Lots of food, wine and laughter. This is definitely one of the top highlights of our trip. 100% recommend.”

Beginning with Federico’s radiant smile and infectious enthusiasm and ending with a delicious bio/ artisanal meal, prepared with the wonderful variety of truffles found fresh in the morning – we could not have been more delighted with our day !! The other two “stars” of the day were our mascots – Argo and Selly !! Our incredible truffle hunter dogs- trained by Federico and his pride and joy. What a pleasure to see them all working together and having such joy in the process. We have learned so much from Federico, who has put many years into learning his craft and training his incredible dogs. “We met at a lovely restaurant with a small farm, which is where we had the delicious lunch afterwards. Federico was lovely, as were his dogs. He was very knowledgeable about truffles and we found a good amount. I took my 4 year old, who really enjoyed the experience. I would definitely recommend truffle hunting with Federico.”

“Being used to pick mushrooms in Denmark this experience with Federico was really different and exciting. Usually we walk and look for the mushrooms, but here it was the two fantastic dogs, Sally and Arco/Argo who did all the hard work. And they found quite a lot of truffles. Even deep down under a stone. Back at the farmhouse we had the most delicious lunch, off course with our own truffles. We will gladly recommend this experience to everybody. “This was such an amazing experience with Federico, Argo, and Rex! The dogs are so sweet, cute, and talented, and Federico is so passionate about the dogs and truffles. We learned so much, found a TON of truffles, had fun, AND an amazing meal! What more could you ask for?? This was one of the highlights of our three week trip across central Italy, which is really a testament to Federico’s hospitality. For those wondering about booking, we found that regular tennis shoes and long socks worked very well for the trek – hiking boots might be best, but they are not essential if that is giving you pause.”

“Truffle hunting with Federico was such a pleasure. Federico has so much knowledge to share and has a very friendly and welcoming manner. After meeting the truffle hounds, Arlo and Sally, and enjoying a quick coffee, the truffle hunting began. The dogs quickly found many truffles in two beautiful oak groves as we explored the Tuscan countryside. After the hunting, we enjoyed a leisurely (nearly 3 hours!) multi-course midday truffle-themed meal at a nearby agro-tourismo farmhouse. Delicious food, lovely wine, friendly people, beautiful countryside, gorgeous weather, and fabulous Federico made for a most memorable day in Tuscany!”

“We had such an incredible time with Federico and his two adorable truffle hunting dogs, Argo and Sally; I can’t speak highly enough of the experience!! Federico took us to a few of his secret truffle spots and we found dozens of black summer truffles and black winter truffles of varying shapes and sizes. It was amazing to see the dogs at work; and it’s clear that they have a very special bond with Federico. After a couple hours of hunting, we were rewarded with a delicious, home style meal at Agriturismo Aia del Tufo. Lunch was literally overloaded with fresh truffle (the very same ones we found that day) – truffle on bruschetta, truffle on eggs, truffle in AND on pasta, truffle on pretty much anything you wanted. This is a meal you can ONLY get when you’re with Fed, and it was definitely one of the best meals we had our entire trip. On top of this being such a unique and awesome experience, Fed is just such great company. If we’re ever back in this part of Italy, we’re definitely visiting him again!”
